I was so excited to use my new moulage scars and blood in our Emergency Department yesterday. However my still lack of medical terminology reared its ugly head again. Our 'patient' had been crushed between a vehicle and wall and had a fractured pelvis.
I applied some bruising to the pelvic area and the ED Educator said I would also need to apply some blood to his meatus.... I rushed for my tube of gooey blood and became stuck... "Where is the meatus?" I asked.... she replied with a smirk "The end of his penis." 

Of course that wasn't the end to my embarrassment as once applied I had to blow the blood dry!

Who would have known I would have to  learn to be a makeup artist? Gore is hard to find when it's not Halloween but managed to find this stuff in the UK!

stripper pants

Do you know how difficult it is to find manikin clothes that can be quickly removed (other than the uniform clothes they come with)... IMPOSSIBLE! My search extended to looking at stripper clothes websites which led to porn sites so I promptly ceased my online search. Not a good look if IT did an audit on me! A quick trip to the local Op Shop to buy some stretchy size 16 pants, add a lot of Velcro and voila! SimMan's looking sexy!

underpants

Today I had to dress a full grown male (Sim Man) complete with proportionate genitalia only to find he'd wet himself (IV tube leakage). I now have to take home his underpants to wash... how do I explain this to my husband?
